The story goes, after getting pissed at MTV executives telling them what they could and could not do on their live performance, Metallica did something on stage that would ban them for life.
The fact is you don’t tell Metallica what to do. You just don’t. You let Metallica get on stage and do whatever the shit they want. Had they done that, I’m sure the outcome would have been a lot better than it was.
Sometime during the mid 90’s (You can tell by the bands hair, it had to be from the Load album), Metallica was invited to play live on MTV Europe. They soon got sick of the executives bullshit, and the band hit the stage and broke out two covers from their Garage Incorporated album: “So What” originally done by the Anti-Nowhere league, and “Last Caress” originally done by the Misfits.
Watch as Metallica gives a very large middle finger to MTV Europe, and gets themselves banned from the network for good.
