On Saturday, August 18th, Black Label Society rocked a killer set at the Sunset Strip Music Festival. Just before they were about to wrap up, Zakk Wylde had an amazing surprise. This years festival theme was “Tribute To The Doors”. Just before BLS hit the stage, I got a pic of the set list, and noticed the closing song was Roadhouse Blues. At the time I didn’t give it much thought. That was until they got to the song, and Zakk said he was bringing out Robby Kreiger!!

Robby came on stage dressed in a pair of whacky pajama pants, retro sunglasses and crazy white hair. He had the look of excitement that I really can’t describe.. He felt the appreciation and excitement of the festival, and was obviously stoked as hell to be jamming a classic DOORS song with the great Black Label Society.

Hearing a mix of Black Label Society and classic Doors was awesome to say the least. For me, it was by far one of the highlights of the day.
