1. Angus Young: The Straight Legged Skip

This band arguably has branded themselves better than any rock band on the planet. Think about it. You can listen to one guitar chord and know right away it’s AC/DC. If I show you a pic of a simple school boy outfit, you don’t think school, you think Angus! Then to top it off he’s created one of the most iconic rock moves in history. With his right leg slightly bent and his left posted straight out if front, Angus can jam a killer solo all while skipping from one side of the stage to the next. Even at 57 years Young (pun intended), Angus rocks this move every night on stage as if he was 20.

2. Axl Rose: Snake

Not many singers can actually move their body in same way as their singing style, but Axl is an exception. Think about the last verse in “Sweet Child Child O’ Mine”.  Notice how Axl drags out the word “Mine” changing the notes back and forth giving it an eyeeeeyyeeeyyeyeye sound. Now think of that sound moving side to side instead of up and down.. And now you have the Axl snake!

3. Ozzy Osbourne: Leap Frog

The Godfather himself has many stage moves and antics that he has perfected since the Black Sabbath days. One of my personal favorites is his love for giant water guns and buckets of water in which he uses to completely douche the entire front row of each of his concerts. When things get really jammin, and Ozzy gets excited, he will crouch down and jump around on stage just like a game of leap frog from when you were a kid. And that’s the cool, innocent part about it. Here’s a guy that’s been shows for decades, but at the end of the day, he’s just a big kid that loves doing rock and roll!

4. Amon Amarth: Synchronized Headbang

As far as Viking Metal goes, these guys take the cake (for me anyway). Everything from the lyrics and look. They take it to a whole other level. Now while bending over and twirling your hair in a helicopter motion is nothing new in Heavy Metal, it seems that Amon Amarth have recently been chosen as the ambassadors of the move.

5. Wayne Static: Bobblehead

The image of Wayne Static is unmistakable. Spiked hair shooting 3 feet into the air and a braided beard down to his chest. It’s hard to miss this guy in a crowd. The beauty of this move is it’s simplicity. Standing straight and stiff as a pencil and moving your head slightly side to side like a ticking clock doesn’t sound like much, but when you mix in a heavy dose of Evil Disco, guttural vocals, and a human head that looks like it’s just been electrocuted, well then it’s pretty badass.
